Thanksgiving is this Thursday, which marks a day of gathering family, friends and loved ones for a day of feasting, giving thanks and for many, football.
While a number of national retailers and grocery stores close their doors Thanksgiving day, others remain open in case consumers need to pick up some last-minute ingredients for their holiday gathering.
The holiday closures are a stark contrast to several years ago when shoppers were finishing Thanksgiving dinner early so they could get to the mall or other stores for a jump on Black Friday sales.
As for banks and post offices, however, consumers might want to plan on going before or after the holiday, as most will also be closed on the holiday.
Here's what to know about banks and post offices and their operating hours on Thanksgiving 2023.
