Spain's Lamine Yamal nets sizzling goal, becomes youngest goal scorer in UEFA Euro history

Spain's teenage phenom Lamine Yamal scored a picture-perfect curling goal from outside the penalty area in the first half of the Euro 2024 semifinal against France.

The youngest player in European championship history, the 16-year-old Yamal had three assists in Spain's first five games of the tournament.

Yamal, who turns 17 on Saturday, played 37 league games for Barcelona in the 2023-24 campaign, his first full season with the senior team.

Yamal's goal was an answer to France, who opened up the scoring in the ninth minute. Spain would keep the offensive attack up, with a shot attempt off the boot of Dani Olmo, which ricocheted off a French defender for an own goal.

The winner of Tuesday's Spain-France matchup will face off against the England-Netherlands winner on Sunday in the Euro 2024 final.
